Use of Google Analytics Web Analytics Service

We utilize Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”), to continuously improve our website.

Google Analytics employs cookies, which are small files stored in your internet browser, enabling the analysis of website usage. The information generated by these cookies regarding your use of this website is typically transmitted to and stored on a Google server in Europe (or a member state of the European Economic Area) for IP address anonymization, ensuring that personal identification is excluded. Only after anonymization, the truncated IP address is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In exceptional cases, the full IP address may be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

On our website, Google Analytics is implemented with IP address anonymization (referred to as IP masking). On our behalf, Google will use the collected information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activities, and provide us with other services related to website usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the collection and processing of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available here. An opt-out cookie will be set, preventing the future collection of your data when visiting this website. For more information on data protection with Google Analytics, please refer to this link.

Please note that by using the opt-out cookie, certain features of the website may not be available. By using our website, you consent to the processing of the collected data by Google in the manner and for the purposes described above.

Social Media Plugins

On certain pages of our website, so-called social media plugins (“plugins”), in particular the “Like” button from Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, the LinkedIn button from LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, California 94043, USA, as well as functions of the Instagram service (a Facebook product), may be integrated (“social media platforms”).

Plugins from other social media platforms may also be used on our website.

When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective social media platform. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly to your browser and embedded in the page. Through this integration, the operator of the social media platform receives information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a profile on the respective social media platform or are not currently logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server of the platform operator, which may be located in the USA, and stored there.

If you are logged into the respective social media platform, your visit to our website can be directly associated with your profile on the social media platform. When you interact with the plugins, such as pressing the “Like” button or leaving a comment, this information is also transmitted directly to a server of the platform operator and stored there. If you wish to prevent this, please log out of your social media accounts before visiting our website.

We have no influence on the data that Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platform operators collect based on their plugins. For the purpose and scope of data collection, as well as the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, and your related rights and privacy settings, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective providers:

For additional information on the Instagram plugin, please visit:

To enhance the protection of your data when visiting our website, the plugins are not fully activated, but are only embedded using an HTML link (so-called “Shariff solution” by c’t). This integration ensures that when a page of our website containing such plugins is accessed, no connection is made to the servers of the respective social media platform provider. By clicking on one of the buttons, a new window of your browser opens and accesses the page of the respective service provider, where you can, for example, press the “Like” or “Share” button after entering your login details. For the purpose and scope of data collection, as well as the further processing and use of the data by the providers on their pages, and your related rights and privacy settings, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective providers.

Furthermore, you can completely prevent the loading of plugins by using add-ons for your browser.
